Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi followed by a scenic drive through Kenya’s central highlands toward Samburu National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking countryside views, coffee plantations, and changing landscapes as you head into the semi-arid northern region of Kenya. Arrive at your safari lodge or luxury tented camp in time for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions and the rare Samburu Special Five. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the African wilderness.
Days 2: Full Day Wildlife Safari in Samburu
Spend the day exploring the spectacular landscapes and wildlife-rich areas of Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives guided by experienced safari experts. The reserve is home to diverse wildlife that thrives along the Ewaso Nyiro River, a vital water source attracting elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes and numerous bird species. Enjoy incredible photography opportunities as you explore the open plains, acacia woodlands, and riverbanks while searching for predators such as leopards, lions and cheetahs. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Samburu Cultural Experience and Nature Exploration

Day 4: Wildlife Viewing and Relaxation

Spend the day exploring different sections of the reserve while searching for rare northern Kenya species and enjoying breathtaking scenery along the river and savannah plains. Between game drives, relax at your luxury lodge or camp while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, swimming pool, or panoramic views of the wilderness before heading out for an evening game drive and sunset photography experience.
Days 5: Return to Nairobi
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge before checking out and beginning your scenic journey back to Nairobi. Along the way, admire the changing landscapes and enjoy optional stopovers for photography and refreshments before arriving in Nairobi later in the afternoon.
